Last nite  I was searching for scriptures on taking offense for that evening I had taken offense from the individual I wrote  of the other day . . . I am not sure if offense  is the correct word for how I was feeling, but I recalled a sermon I observed where the speaker spoke about not taking offense to what another receives or does . . . Along the line of it not being your time/season, & there being higher reasons for what is taking place . . . I may not be able to describe it, but it made sense, helped clear some things up, the area I have to work on is applying what I had learned ( this is quite the challenge for me )

So last nite  I searched through my purple book looking for a scripture/psalm/proverb that spoke about offense but I could not find what I was exactly looking for . . . Then I was reading in the “Family Devotions Bible” I recently retrieved out of storage & I came across Joseph  . . . Now Joseph was the 11th child & the favorite of his father, which made his siblings horribly jealous . . . Joseph spoke of dreams he had to them, which basically told that one day Joseph would be of higher status & they would all bow down to him, his siblings took great offense to this . . . Especially when their father gave Joseph a coat of many colors . . . So they planned on killing him but instead sold him as a slave, then lied to their father making him think that Joseph had been killed by wild animals . . . Joseph arrived in Egypt as a captive & was purchased by a member of the personal staff of the king of Egypt, Potiphar, the Lord had greatly blessed Joseph & Potiphar had taken notice of this, he was greatly pleased with him so Joseph rose to a position of influence but was imprisoned on false charges of making advances on the wife of Potiphar, his master . . . Joseph spent some time in jail but the Lord was with him there & granted him favor with the chief jailer who basically handed over the entire prison administration to Joseph, so that all the other prisoners were responsible to him . . . While there the King became mad with two others & sent them to serve time . . . These two had dreams & Joseph was able to tell them what they meant, the dreams came true for both of the individuals, one restored to a former position of his, the other was put to death . . . Joseph had requested of the one reinstated not to forget him, but he did for some time ( 2 years! ) until the King had a dream that needed to be explained . . . When he did recall, Joseph was released & re-gained favor with the King, making Joseph in charge of all the land of Egypt . . . After seven years of plenty came seven years of famine . . . People everywhere were in need of food for themselves & animals, eventually Joseph’s brothers came to him, thou they were unaware he was their brother, in search of food . . .

So in ending Joseph’s own brothers did not like him & sold him  . . . He was then lied about  . . . Then imprisoned  . . . But he stayed tried & true, never cursing those who did him wrong . . . When he obtained great power he could have been incredibly nasty & vengeful but he wasn't! Wow  that is amazing! That is faith!

Makes my “offense” really look small in comparison   ! It had me realize . . . Stop, take a deep breath, don’t curse the actions the individual is doing, take another deep breath & know that whatever will be will be . . . .

Hey My Sweet Friend!!!

This is so true!! In fact, I heard a sermon by David Jeremiah today on this exact subject!!! What an awesome God we serve. It brings us down to hold unforgiveness toward someone who has wronged us. It is a very hard thing to do, but, do we must!!! I pray that all of your deeds done to you will soon vanish and that you will come out of it a stronger person than you were before!!! It is hard to not 'take offense' when things are said and done to us, but, we have to look beyond that. Jesus has His arms outstretched to us to hold, love and comfort us!!! Don't lose sight of that!!!

I made an entry today, and it was you who was in the forefront of my mind. I thank you for being a great friend to me, and I did miss you when you were gone for a time. Glad you are back. I love you!!!! o:)

I am Italian Catholic, born & raised . . . so there is a lot of major guilt that I carry even when not called for But now I am developing my relationship with God on a more personal level, so the guilt is not so much I am understanding things better, especially that I am human & feelings I have, well they have been around since the beginning of time. . . I was just reading the other day an area about Moses & I had to stop for a minute & smile for Moses at times questioned what God wanted him to do & what was happening . . . I smiled because I do that from time to time & due to my up bringing. . . well you know

The way I see it, my friend, is that I am not perfect but I am trying to perfect myself
