~ Hidden Stash Cash ~

  • Mood:
  • Yesterday cans: 11
  • Yesterday I found: 4 pennies, 1 dime eyeglass case holder
Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
~ 1 Peter 17-21

On Dec. 2nd I wrote  an entry about this house  that belongs to an extreme "collector" & how I have started speaking with her   . . . while waiting to pick up my girls   at their school I was discussing with a lady about the amount of stuff that this one little lady has kept through out the years  . . . that is when this lady relayed to me two stories: one was about a lady who was in her 90's who had an enormous amount of items . . . newspapers  were stacked high & there was this teeny teeny pathway to walk through the house . . . relatives said that she  was financially sound but stubborn when it came to using any of that money to help make her life more comfortable, which is how she passed away  . . . she refused to get A/C put into her home & ended up dieing from a heatstroke  . . . the family got a dumpster & began to unbury the inside of the house, one person who was in charge of those newspapers  alone notice a dollar float down as they tossed a stack into the dumpster . . . this sparked their interest  so they dug out the newspapers & discovered more money was hidden in there . . . guess how much they collected from those newspapers alone? Over $1,000,000!!!!!

The next story was in reference to her own mother: while visiting she asked her mother if she wanted her to go pay some bills, the mother said yes, let me get some money & went to the vacuum cleaner that was sitting in the living room , the lady said "Mom! I thought you were going to get the money for the bills?" . . the mother "Yes that is what I am doing!" she then unzipped the vacuum bag & took out the needed money . . . the daughter mentioned what if it caught on  fire "It hasn't yet!" was her mother's reply . . . .

My Mother's Grandfather  use to bury his money in the yard . . . this was during the Depression Years & he had no trust of banks . . . sadly the family lost that house & all the money he burried in the yard as well . . . my Mother hides some cash in the freezer . . . hhhmm, cold hard cash?

This got me thinking about many things . . . one being areas people probably stash the cash but forget about it ( example: One Monday I wrote about a young girl who picked up a exercise tape at a thrift store & found $1,000 in there ) . . . I think the funniest place I have read to hide was a man who wrote that he hid his money in his wife's tampons with the response of "No way a theif will touch those!"

My Hub bought a ticket to be played on Friday  for the Mega Millions Lotto the other day . . . the current estimated jackpot is at $170 Million dollars with a cash option of $116.9 Million . . . so I checked our numbers 21-28-45-53-54-39 this morning  . . . the winning numbers for Friday evenin'  were 21-27-46-52-55-14 . . . talk about a teaser!!!!!
