I WAITED patiently and expectantly for the Lord and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up out of a horrible pit ( a pit of tumult and of destruction ), out of the miry clay ( froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.
~ Psalm 40:13
Lord, don't leave me; my God, don't go away. Quickly come and help me, my Lord and Savior.

Please take a moment, watch, listen, learn, live
Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body.
~Proverbs 16:24

With God we will gain the victory.

an article that listed Top 10 New Year's Resolutions:
& chuckle
softly as looking over the list & seeing I have 9 out of 10 there! The only thing on that list that does not apply to me is #6 Quit Drinking, I have been truly Blessed
that that area has never been an attraction for me. Oh I drank in my youth but again I am Blessed, I was able to walk away from that. But #4 . . . cigarettes . . . ahhhh
, a whole different ball park for me! I have been a smoker for over 30 years & honestly I don't want to quit ( words of a true addict
eh ) ! But Hub is wanting to quit
. . . he tells me "oh you don't have to" but realty is yes I do . . . it wouldn't be fair nor would it be right that he quit while I keep on puffing away . . . & I have been around reformed smokers . . . no offense to any of you who are reading this who have quit smoking . . . they can be brutal
to a person who still smokes!
& snapping
at us ( me & the girls ) without us having even done anything! I could have swore I saw foam a few times
! He even about tore off my head when he found out that I was planning on stopping as well! & man o live did I get the skunk eye when I told him I did not want to do the "patch"! ( for my own silly personal reasons I do not want to use the "patch", I have other alternative methods I am wishing to use )
as I have I am fully aware of the benefits to quitting . . . not only in health but in financial
as well . . . when you go to quit, many people with truly good intentions like to remind you of these reasons, please do not do that for me
. . . I am an oddball sort of person, thou in my heart I know you are meaning well in my head I hear these things & get a chip of defiance on my shoulder . . . so thou you may wish me well, instead of giving me "words of encouragement" say a silent pray
. . . please . . . thou if you have suggestions or advice on methods you used to help you cut back or quit, that I welcome!!!! ( told you I am an oddball )
. . . you smoke when you get up, you smoke when you get in the car, you smoke after you eat, you smoke when you get mad, you smoke when on the computer, etc etc etc . . . I have to retrain myself on these habits . . . one thing I have to be careful of is replacing one habit with another habit . . . for example at the store yesterday I purchased 8 packs of 10 candy canes in a box, they were on sale for 24 cents a box . . . got these to suck on while on the computer, trying to comfort the body/mind that are expecting to having a cigarette at a certain time . . . while these may help I don't want to replace the habit of smoking with a habit of sweets now, follow what I am saying? my oldest
is going to make me a "squishy" out of the Borax mixture I posted
back in Oct. & put it in a balloon to help keep my hands busy while in the car or on the phone or whatever . .

help, when you inhale off a cigarette you are taking a deep breath - so for me when I am thinking of a cig I take a couple of deep breaths & it seems to take the edge off of the craving . . . a lil bit . . . so
shhhhhh don't tell Hub but while he is doing the patch, which I believe is a 10 week program, I will be cutting back so I can be done just about the same time he is!
